Grinding wheels have a particle size range, so they should be selected according to the machining object and requirements.
First of all, let's learn about the number of items we generally say. Mesh refers to the size range of abrasive particles.
The size range of abrasive particles is commonly divided into two categories.
12#-280# called sand. W40-W0。 5 (or finer) is called micro powder.
XX # is the size of the through screen, that is, the mesh number of the No. 1 screen through which the abrasive particles can just pass to represent the particle size of the abrasive particles.
Wxx is to measure the size, that is, the abrasive particles are small. If there is no corresponding screen to measure it, it is expressed by its actual average size.
Now, XXX #--xxxx # can also be used to represent the particle size of abrasive particles when the abrasive particle size is more than 280 #.
W40-w10 approaches 320#-800# w7-w2. 5 close to 1000-3000. Generally, ordinary grinding wheel can reach W14 (about 600# mm).
Then choose different grinding wheels for different materials. We can choose white corundum as our knife. If you want higher grinding efficiency, green silicon carbide is better.
For different grinding requirements, the hardness of the grinding wheel should also be selected. For rough grinding, it is better to choose a softer Zr level as far as possible. Select a harder Z or ZY level for fine grinding.
